Delete your K-OREA account
This page explains how to delete your K-OREA account and what happens to your data when you do, for both the Android and iOS versions of the app. Deleting your account is free, can be requested at any time, and does not require you to keep the app installed.
Method 1 — Delete it in the app (recommended, immediate)
This is the fastest way: it runs right away and does not require contacting us.
- Open the K-OREA app.
- Tap the My tab in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll down to the Settings section.
- Tap Delete account (shown in red, below the legal links).
- Read the sheet that appears — it lists exactly what will be deleted and what is kept — then tap the red confirm button to proceed.
- Deletion runs immediately. When it finishes you'll see a confirmation screen; if any step could not complete, the app tells you which and offers Retry.
Method 2 — Email us if you can't access the app
If you no longer have the app installed, can't sign in, or have lost access to your device, you can request deletion by email instead.
Email 4ddesigner@naver.com with the subject line “Account deletion request”.
In the message, include either your public @username as shown in the app's My tab, or the email address of the Google account you used to sign in.
Because this request comes in outside the app, we may ask you a follow-up question to confirm you are the account holder before we act on it — this protects you from someone else deleting your data. We complete email deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email once it's done.
What gets deleted
Whichever method you use, a completed deletion removes:
- Your public @username — released, so someone else can claim it afterwards.
- Your profile.
- Every Traveler Moment you posted, including its photo — removed for everyone who can see it, not just hidden from your own view.
- Your Google sign-in link on that device.
- Everything kept on your phone for this app: saved spots, allergy rules, your health card, K Pass state, your nickname and profile photo, your last pharmacist card, and any posts or travelers you had hidden or blocked.
What we keep, and why
A few narrow items are not touched by an account deletion. Each one is disclosed in the in-app confirmation sheet before you delete, and none of them can identify you by name, email, or content.
Four settings left on your own device
Your chosen display language, your “Share usage data” opt-out (so we don't quietly turn analytics back on for someone who asked for less collection), the device identifier that keys the anonymous usage counters below, and a cached copy of our public place catalogue (no personal data in it). Erasing these would only make the app worse for you with no privacy benefit, so they stay.
Anonymous per-device usage counters
Kept server-side, keyed to a device identifier (and, if you had signed in, the former account identifier) — containing no name, email, or content — for as long as needed to keep daily usage limits (like menu scans) working.
Moderation and report records
Kept as required to operate content moderation and community safety responsibly.
Product-analytics and error-diagnostics events
Not linked to your deleted account. Kept for up to 12 months, then deleted on their own schedule.
Purchase and receipt records
Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) — we never see your card details, and the underlying receipt is held by the store, not by us. Our own server keeps only a minimal purchase ledger entry (which K Pass, its validity period, the store transaction ID, and the internal account identifier it was issued to), retained for as long as applicable tax, accounting, or refund-handling law requires. That internal identifier is a random value; it is not your name, email, or username.
Your K Pass after deletion
K Pass access is tied to the specific account you are deleting, not just to your Apple ID or Google Play account. When the account is deleted, its purchase record is cryptographically bound to an account identifier that no longer exists — so K Pass access cannot be restored to a new account afterward, including through the store's own “restore purchases” feature. The purchase itself remains on file with Apple or Google as a billing record (for receipts, tax, or refund purposes), but restores or refunds for it must be requested from Apple or Google directly, not from us.
